No.3 - Peace Pilgrim

In the last few weeks I'd be lying if I said I hadn't a moments apprehension about my upcoming pilgrimage. Other people's doubts enter your own head, you see all the potential obstacles and problems and you wonder 'What on earth possessed me to go and do this?'!

It's in moments such as those that I take inspiration from a silver haired woman who callied herself "Peace Pilgrim". Between 1951 and 1983 she gave up everything she owned and walked more than 25,000 miles on a personal pilgrimage for peace.

Firstly, if you listen to any of her speeches or read her book you cannot help but be moved by what she is talking about. She believed that world peace will only ever be achieved when we all personally achieve inner peace. Until then we will always have environmental destruction, wars, sweatshops, factory farms and torture. But there isn't a note of negativity in her voice about any of it, and what she talks about is incredibly uplifting. If mankind listened and fully understood what she was talking about today, this world would be paradise.

But apart from all that, it puts my pilgrimage in perspective. When I find myself wondering about whether or not I shoud take a liner for my sleeping bag or other such ridiculous thoughts, I remind myself that she walked for over 30 years years without even a backpack. She literally just carried her love for all the earths creatures and the conviction of her believes. And she received everything she needed along the way. In fact, she said her biggest problem was that she received too much food!

So I will leave you with the vow she made to humanity - "I will remain a wanderer until mankind has learned the way of peace, walking until given shelter and fasting until given food". I hope I can take that spirit with me for my entire journey.

Some time before, I really needed to buy a good house for my firm but I did not earn enough cash and could not buy something. Thank God my brother proposed to try to get the loans from creditors. So, I acted so and used to be satisfied with my sba loan.
