Resolutions

It's that time of year again when we reflect on the last twelve months and think about what went well for us, what lessons we learned and what we want to do differently in the future.

For everyone it is something different. Just remember that everything that happened did so for a reason, even the 'bad' stuff. Especially the bad stuff. Sometimes things happen to prevent even worse stuff happening. To give an example, in the summer I had a bicycle stolen which had very dodgy brakes, and that on a dry day. After heading out and buying another bike second hand, I was cycling home whilst my mind was one world peace (or quite possibly what I was going to cook for dinner) when I came within inches of a high speed head on collision with a car. We were eyeball to eyeball. I was saved only by a great pair of brakes on my new bike.

Never curse the 'bad' stuff that happens. Try to see what it is telling you.

Whatever your resolutions be this year, I wish you all the resolve to put them into action for the rest of your life. And remember everyday is a new dawn, they can be renewed at any time and it's OK to fail at them as long as you pick them up with even more resolve.

It's good to look back. But it's even better to move forwards. You cannot change the past. You most definitely can change OUR future.

Happy New Year to all you wonderful people! I wish you all the love in the world for 2008.
